Tuesdays at the Castle

Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George

Tuesdays at the Castle is a delightful first book in the Castle Trilogy. This 225 page/ 24 chapter book is a great book for all ages and I can't stop turning the pages. I'm not joking! When I'm reading it, this book goes with me everywhere!

  What the Book's All About

Tuesdays at the Castle highlights Princess Celie and her siblings, Rolf and Lilah (She also has a brother at the College of Wizardry - Bran) ,and their new friend- Prince Lulath of Grath (who loves his many, many dogs), as they try to save the living and ever-changing Castle Glower from the evil Prince Khelsh. Will the royal family save Castle Glower? Will Khelsh ever leave? Will Celie ever be able to finish mapping the Castle? Will Lulath's dogs quit licking Celie?

Mitch and Amy

Mitch and Amy by Beverly Cleary

Mitch and Amy is a book for young readers, yet is very interesting indeed. I've read this ten-chapter book only a few times since I got it (I can't find anything in that overflowing thing I call a bookshelf!), and I still find that I want to know more.

What the Book's All About

Mitch and Amy are opposite nine-year-old twins (Mitch likes math and Amy likes reading, etc.) who squabble over almost anything, from what to watch on the TV to who started what - except dealing with the school bully of course. When the bully- Alan Hibbler-  starts to pick on Mitch, Amy can't take it, and when the opposite happens, Mitch picks a fight with Alan. Who wins? Will Amy finally learn her times-tables? Will Mitchell ever learn to read?
